Device Link Helper helps users approve a WhatsApp passkey device-linking request that they started from their dashboard.
Data processed
- A temporary passkey linking token created by the dashboard.
- WebAuthn passkey request options returned by the dashboard.
- The browser WebAuthn credential response created after the user approves the passkey prompt.
- Temporary helper status used to show progress in the extension popup.
How data is used
The extension uses this data only to complete the user-requested device-linking flow. The temporary token is used to fetch the pending passkey request. The WebAuthn credential response is sent back to the dashboard endpoint that created the token so the dashboard can finish linking the WhatsApp session.
What the extension does not do
- It does not collect passwords.
- It does not read or export WhatsApp chats.
- It does not sell user data.
- It does not use data for advertising, credit decisions, profiling, or unrelated purposes.
Websites accessed
- The dashboard domain that starts the passkey linking request.
- https://web.whatsapp.com/*, where it displays a visible helper overlay and starts the browser passkey prompt.
Data sharing
The extension sends the temporary token and passkey approval response only to the configured dashboard endpoint needed to complete the linking request. No data is sold to third parties.
Independent tool
This extension is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by WhatsApp, Meta, Google, or any third party.
